When the going gets tough...

Many of us who ride spend at least some time in forums and at websites pertaining to our respective bikes. In spending time there we gain some knowledge and wisdom, make friends and riding partners, and get to know and recognise the names of the people that hang out there. Such is the case at one of the forums I frequent.

With the tough times we face today, riders all over are having problems making ends meet. Well, on my favorite forum, one of the well known and long time members is going through tough times, and felt the need to sell one of his bikes. Many of us participated in helping the man keep his bike, and we are all glad that we were able to make one man's life a little better.

Another story I read lately was about a man with terminal cancer. He wanted to ride his beloved bike once again, but because of his situation, couldn't get his bike back on the road by himself. Some members of a certain motorcycle forum pitched inĀ  with parts and time to help get this man back on his bike so he could enjoy riding again before he leaves this world.

This shows the brotherhood of motorcyclists, that special bond between those that ride, but more importantly, it shows a side of bikers (read motorcyclists) that many never see, or even think of.

As you can tell I'm no writer, and I apologize. The point here is that no matter how big our bikes are, what kind we ride, who we are, or what we do for a living, we are all the same in at least one way. We all ride!
